How we ensure the authenticity of reviews
Product reviews in the shop
Anyone can submit product reviews in our shop; a purchase is not strictly required. When a review is submitted, the shop automatically checks whether the email address provided belongs to an order for the reviewed product.
If so, we mark the review “Verified purchase”. Reviews without this label do not demonstrably come from buyers. We check all reviews before publication to exclude spam and unlawful content; no further verification of authenticity takes place. A product’s overall rating is calculated from all published reviews.
Customer feedback
On the “Customer feedback” page, we show a selection of messages that buyers sent us after their purchase by email, WhatsApp or via marketplaces (e.g. eBay, Etsy). We reproduce these messages verbatim, sometimes shortened; they are not product reviews submitted in the shop and are not included in the overall rating.
